Diagnostic Connector

The diagnostic connector is used to perform the following operations:

  1. Checking the primary ignition circuit
  2.  
  3. Setting the ignition timing
  4.  
  5. Checking the centrifugal and vacuum advance.
  6.  
  7. Setting the engine speed
  8.  

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2.  
  3. Remove the diagnostic connector. Do not remove the support plate.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the wiring, tagging all wires for easy identification.
  6.  
  7. Unscrew the sensor attaching bolt and remove the sensor.
  8.  
  9. Unscrew the support plate, taking care not to bend it when removing.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal.
