FLUID RECOMMENDATION & LEVEL CHECK

Power steering fluid level should be checked at least once every 7500 miles (12,000 km). To prevent possible overfilling, check the level only when the fluid has warmed to operating temperatures and the wheels are turned straight-ahead. If the level is low, fill the pump reservoir with DEXRON II® automatic transmission fluid.

Position the vehicle on level ground. Run the engine until the fluid is at normal operating temperature. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and right several times. Position the wheels in the straight ahead position, then shut off the engine. Check the fluid level on the dipstick which is attached to the reservoir cap. The level should be between the ADD and FULL marks on the dipstick. Add fluid accordingly. Do not overfill.
