LeCar
  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2.  
  3. Remove the heater case door control cable.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the wiring from the fan motor.
  6.  
  7. Unclip the bleed screw hose and the accelerator cable at the case.
  8.  
  9. Unbolt and remove the air inlet chamber.
  10.  
  11. Remove the clips and separate the air duct case halves.
  12.  
  13. Unclip and remove the heater case door support panel.
  14.  
  15. Remove the three motor mount screws on the air inlet fan housing top case. Save the rubber antivibration washers.
  16.  
  17. Remove the locking sleeve and take out the blower fan.
  18.  
  19. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure that the case door control cable is properly adjusted.

Alliance and Encore

The blower is removed along with the heater core.

  1. Remove the instrument panel.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the wires and cables at the case.
  4.  
  5. Drain the cooling system. Disconnect the heater hoses at the core tubes.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 4 screws retaining the heater assembly and lift it out of the car.
  8.  
  9. Bend out the 4 tabs holding the core and remove the core from the case.
  10.  
  11. Remove the retaining clips from the motor and the case halve clips and open the case. Lift out the blower motor.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of removal.

  1. Carefully pull back the glove compartment cardboard tray.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the blower motor wires.
  4.  
  5. Remove the motor housing retaining screws and remove the motor housing.
  6.  
  7. Remove the fan blade locknut, the fan and remove the motor-to-housing screws.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal.

  1. Remove the heater assembly.
  2.  
  3. Unclip and remove the air entry shroud.
  4.  
  5. Remove the fan and motor from the case.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of removal.

The blower is removed along with the heater core.

  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2.  
  3. Drain the cooling system.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the heater hoses at the core tubes.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the fan motor wiring and the windshield wiper motor wiring junction block.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the air door cable.
  10.  
  11. Remove the three screws and two nuts securing the heater case and lift out the case.
  12.  
  13. Remove the heater case seal.
  14.  
  15. Unclip the case halves, separate the halves and lift out the blower motor.
  16.  
  17. Installation is the reverse of removal. Use RTV sealer on the housing seal and make sure that the blowers turn freely with equal play at each end.
