Front Turn Signal and Parking Lights

Alliance and Encore models do not require the lens cover to be removed. Access is gained from the underside of the front bumper. On the Fuego, the lens is held to the trim panel by plastic latches. On the R-18, access to the bulb is achieved by twisting the socket assembly on the back of the trim panel.

  1. Remove the lens cover retaining screws and remove the lens.
  2.  
  3. On some models, the lens may be part of a trim assembly, or may be integral with the grille. On these models, remove the trim and/or grille assembly.
  4.  
  5. To remove the bulb, push in slightly while twisting the bulb counterclockwise to disengage the bulb retaining pins.
  6.  
  7. Pull the bulb out of the socket.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Side Marker Lights

Alliance and Encore models do not require the lens cover to be removed. Access is gained from the underside of the front bumper, or by removing a socket cover in the trunk for the rear light.

  1. Remove the lens cover retaining screws and remove the lens.
  2.  
  3. Remove the bulb from the socket by either grasping the bulb and pulling straight out, or by pushing in gently on the bulb, then twisting and pulling it out.
  4.  
  5. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  6.

Alliance and Encore models do not require the lens cover to be removed. Access is gained by removing a cover in the trunk, then turning the bulb socket and pulling it out of the body. Fuego and R-18 models (but not Sport Wagon) have a cover that is held in place by plastic latches. Unclip the latches to gain access to the bulbs.

  1. Remove the lens cover retaining screws and remove the lens.
  2.  
  3. To remove the bulb, push in slightly while twisting the bulb in a counterclockwise direction to disengage the bulb retaining pins.
  4.  
  5. Pull the bulb out of the socket.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  8.  

Dome Light

If the door is open during this procedure, the light will come on as soon as the bulb touches the retaining clips.

  1. To replace the dome light bulb, carefully pry off the dome light lens.
  2.  
  3. Using a non-metallic object, carefully pry the old bulb out of the retaining clips.
  4.  
  5. To install the new bulb, simply position it over top of the retaining clips, and press it in until it clicks into position.
  6.  
  7. Install the dome light lens cover.
  8.  

License Plate and Reverse Lights

  1. Remove the lens and/or hood cover retaining screws, then remove the lens and/or hood.
  2.  
  3. Remove the bulb. Some models use a push-in type bulb, while others may use a bulb that requires it to be pushed in slightly, then turned counterclockwise.
  4.  
  5. Installation is the reverse of removal.
