Carbureted Engines

Some carbureted engines also use an inline filter similar to injected engines

The filter is a wire mesh screen located under a nut in the inlet side of the carburetor. Periodically remove the nut and clean the screen. Always use a new gasket on the nut.

Fuel Injection

The filter is located next to the fuel pump on the right rear frame member. Before removing the filter clamps, clamp-off the lines on either side of the filter to avoid spills. Remove the filter clamps, install the new filter, noting the direction of flow stamped on the filter, and replace the clamps. Unclamp the lines.
