Air Cleaner (Element)

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

The air cleaner element on both the CRV and Odyssey models is located in a plastic housing which is connected to the intake manifold via a flexible tubular air duct. The recommended normal replacement interval for the air filter is 30,000 miles (48,000 km) or 2 years, whichever occurs first. For Canadian vehicles or vehicles operated in severe conditions, the filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles (24,000 km) or every year, which ever occurs first.

Per the manufacturer's recommendations, the air filter element should never be cleaned by blowing it off with compressed air.

CRV Models

  1. Release the spring loaded retainers from the upper air filter housing.
  2.
  3. Release the upper air filter housing from the intake bellows, and lift the upper housing away from the air filter element and the lower air filter housing.
  4.
  5. Cover the opening of the intake bellows to prevent debris from entering and then lift the air filter element away from the lower air filter housing.
  6.
