  20.

To install:

  1. Fill the replacement compressor with oil.
  2.
  3. Install the compressor to the brackets.
  4.
  5. Install the compressor rear bracket bolts and the mounting bolts to the A/C Compressor. Tighten the compressor mounting bolts to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm). Tighten the compressor rear bracket bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  6.
  7. Install the compressor suction/discharge hose assembly.
  8.

  28.
  29. Inspect the oil for contamination or metal particles.
  30.

To install:

  1. Add oil to the new compressor by following the instruction sheets shipped with the compressor. If the instruction sheets are not available, do the following:
    1. Drain the refrigerant oil from the removed compressor into a clean, calibrated container.
    2.
    3. Record the amount of oil removed from the old compressor.
    4.
    5. If the amount of oil drained from the old compressor is less than or equal to 60 ml (2 fl oz), add 60 ml (2 fl oz) of new 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to the new compressor.
    6.
    7. If the amount of oil drained from the old compressor is greater than 60 ml (2 fl oz), add the same amount of new 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to the new compressor.
    8.

  2.
  3. Install the new compressor to the accessory mounting bracket.
  4.
  5. Install the 4 compressor mounting bolts and tighten to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
  6.
  7. Install the throttle control cable bracket and nut to the throttle body. Tighten the nut to 106 inch lbs. (12 Nm).
  8.
  9. If equipped, connect the cruise control cable to the throttle cable bracket.
  10.
  11. Connect the accelerator control cable to the throttle cable bracket.
