  1. Remove the sensor from the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Place the sensor in a container of water.
  4.  
  5. Connect one lead of an ohmmeter to the sensor terminal and the other lead to the sensor body.
  6.  
  7. Place a thermometer in the container of water and heat the water.
  8.  
  9. When the water is cool the resistance should be high. As the water temperature increases the resistance should decrease smoothly.
  10.  
  11. If not, the sensor is probably faulty.
