Power Door Locks

Diagnosis & Testing
  1. With the ignition OFF , detach the harness connector at the inoperative door latch assembly.
  2.
  3. Test for less than 10 ohms between the door lock actuator lock control circuit terminal and ground.
    1. Driver side locks: Terminal 3
    2.
    3. Passenger side locks: Terminal 6
    4.

  4.
  5. If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If circuits test normal, replace the appropriate door control module.

  7. Test for less than 10 ohms between the door lock actuator unlock control circuit terminal and ground.
    1. Driver side locks: Terminal 2
    2.
    3. Passenger side locks: Terminal 5
    4.

  8.
  9. If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If circuits test normal, replace the appropriate door control module.
  10.
  11. With the ignition OFF , connect a test lamp between the lock control circuit terminal and unlock control circuit terminal at the door latch harness connector.
  12.
  13. With the ignition ON , perform the DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK test with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn on and off when performing the DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK test.
  14.
  15. If the test lamp remains off during either of the commands, test for a short to ground on either control circuit. If the circuits test normal, replace the appropriate door control module.
  16.
  17. If the circuits test normal, test or replace the inoperative door latch assembly.
