Brake Pads

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheels.
  4.  
  5. Press back the piston and remove the caliper clip.
  6.  
  7. Remove the caliper guide pins.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake caliper.
  10.  
  11. Remove the brake pads.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Install the brake pads.
  2.  
  3. Install the caliper and torque the pins to 21 ft. lbs. (28 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the caliper clip and depress the brake pedal to force out the pistons.
  6.  
  7. Install the rrear wheels.
  8.  
  9. Check and top off the brake fluid, if necessary.
  10.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheels.
  4.  
  5. Compress the caliper piston into the caliper bore.
  6.  
  7. Remove the brake pad retaining pins and lock spring.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake pads.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the brake pads into the brake caliper.
  2.  
  3. Install the lock spring and the brake pad retaining pins.
  4.  
  5. Install the wheels and tighten the lug nuts. Torque the lug nuts to 81 ft. lbs. (102 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Adjust brake fluid level.
  8.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheels.
  4.  
  5. Press back the piston and remove the caliper clip.
  6.  
  7. Remove the caliper guide pins.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake caliper.
  10.  
  11. Remove the brake pads.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Install the brake pads.
  2.  
  3. Install the caliper and torque the pins to 21 ft. lbs. (28 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the caliper clip and depress the brake pedal to force out the pistons.
  6.  
  7. Install the rear wheels.
  8.  
  9. Check and top off the brake fluid, if necessary.
  10.
