Specific to:

Nissan Sentra 1997-1999

When the clutch cable is replaced with a new one, fully depress the pedal 50 to pre-stretch the new cable. Then, adjust it as follows:

  1. Push the withdrawal lever by hand until resistance is felt. Then, tighten the adjusting nut.
  2.  
  3. Turn back the adjusting nut 2.5-3.5 turns and tighten the locknut to 38-52 inch lbs. (4.3-5.9 Nm). Play should be 0.098-0.139 in. (2.5-3.5mm) as shown.

  5. As a final check, measure the pedal free travel at the center of the pedal pad. Free travel (A) should be 0.433-0.591 in. (11-15mm).

Pedal Clearance



Specific to:

Nissan Sentra 1997-1999

Adjust the pedal clearance (C) at the stopper as shown while fully depressing the clutch pedal. Clearance should be 0.012-0.039 in. (0.3-1.0mm).

Pedal Height



Specific to:

Nissan Sentra 1997-1999

Adjust the pedal height with the pedal stopper or ASCD switch so that the pedal height from the floor (H) is 6.02-6.42 in. (153-163mm) as shown in the illustration.
