2.0L Engine



Specific to:

Nissan Sentra 2007-2012

  1. Discharge the refrigerant. Refer to Air Conditioning System Maintenance in the Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the engine undercover.
  4.  
  5. Remove the splash shield RH. Refer to Fenders & Body Panels in the Body Section.
  6.  
  7. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belts in the Engine Mechanical Section.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the compressor connector.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the high-pressure flexible hose and low-pressure flexible hose.
    NOTE
    Cap or wrap the joint of the hose with a suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of any contaminants.

  13. Remove the compressor bolts using power tool, then remove the compressor.

To install:

  1. Install the compressor bolts using power tool, then install the compressor.
    NOTE
    Cap or wrap the joint of the hose with a suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of any contaminants.

  3. Connect the high-pressure flexible hose and low-pressure flexible hose.
  4.  
  5. Connect the compressor connector.
  6.  
  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belts in the Engine Mechanical Section.
  8.  
  9. Install the splash shield RH. Refer to Fenders & Body Panels in the Body Section.
  10.  
  11. Install the engine undercover.
  12.  
  13. Charge the refrigerant. Refer to Air Conditioning System Maintenance in the Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning Section.
    NOTE
    Replace the O-ring of the low-pressure flexible hose and high-pressure flexible hose with new ones, then apply A/C oil to them for installation.


    NOTE
    After charging the A/C refrigerant, check for leaks. Refer to Air Conditioning System Maintenance in the Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning Section. High and low-pressure flexible hose and muffler pipe nuts and bolt as shown in the accompanying illustration.

2.5L Engine



Specific to:

Nissan Sentra 2007-2012

  1. Discharge the refrigerant. Refer to Air Conditioning System Maintenance in the Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning Section.
  2.  
  3. Partially drain the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Components in the Engine Cooling Section.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  6.  
  7. Remove the front RH wheel and tire.
  8.  
  9. Remove the engine undercover.
  10.  
  11. Remove the front air duct. Refer to Air Intake System in the Engine Mechanical Section.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the coolant reservoir hose from the radiator.
  16.  
  17. Remove the electric cooling fan assembly. Refer to Cooling System Components in the Engine Cooling Section.
  18.  
  19. Remove the splash shield RH. Refer to Fenders & Body Panels in the Body Section.
  20.  
  21. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belts in the Engine Mechanical Section.
  22.  
  23. Remove the generator assembly. Refer to Charging System in the Engine Electrical Section.
  24.  
  25. Disconnect the compressor connector.
  26.  
  27. Disconnect the high-pressure flexible hose and low-pressure flexible hose.
    NOTE
    Cap or wrap the joint of the hose with a suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of any contaminants.

  29. Remove the muffler pipe from the compressor.
    NOTE
    Cap or wrap the joint of the hose with a suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of any contaminants.

  31. Remove the compressor bolts using power tool, then remove the compressor.

To install:

  1. Install the compressor bolts using power tool, then install the compressor.
    NOTE
    Cap or wrap the joint of the hose with a suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of any contaminants.

  3. Install the muffler pipe to the compressor.
    NOTE
    Cap or wrap the joint of the hose with a suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of any contaminants.

  4.  
  5. Connect the high-pressure flexible hose and low-pressure flexible hose.
  6.  
  7. Connect the compressor connector.
  8.  
  9. Install the generator assembly. Refer to Charging System in the Engine Electrical Section.
  10.  
  11. Install the drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belts in the Engine Mechanical Section.
  12.  
  13. Install the splash shield RH. Refer to Fenders & Body Panels in the Body Section.
  14.  
  15. Install the electric cooling fan assembly. Refer to Cooling System Components in the Engine Cooling Section.
  16.  
  17. Connect the coolant reservoir hose to the radiator.
  18.  
  19. Connect the upper radiator hose to the radiator.
  20.  
  21. Install the front air duct. Refer to Air Intake System in the Engine Mechanical Section.
  22.  
  23. Install the engine undercover.
  24.  
  25. Install the front RH wheel and tire.
  26.  
  27. Connect the battery negative terminal.
  28.  
  29. Partially fill the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Components in the Engine Cooling Section.
  30.  
  31. Charge the refrigerant. Refer to Air Conditioning System Maintenance in the Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning Section.
    NOTE
    Replace the O-ring of the low-pressure flexible hose, muffler pipe and high-pressure flexible hose with new ones, then apply A/C oil to them for installation.


    NOTE
    After charging the A/C refrigerant, check for leaks. Refer to Air Conditioning System Maintenance in the Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning Section. High and low-pressure flexible hose and muffler pipe nuts and bolt as shown in the accompanying illustration.
