Headliner

Removal & Installation



  1. Disconnect the negative and positive battery terminals, then wait at least three minutes.
  2.  
  3. Recline front seatback to full down position.
  4.  
  5. Remove front seat belt shoulder anchors (RH/LH). Refer to Seat Belt Systems in the Body Section.
  6.  
  7. Remove front pillar finishers (RH/LH). Refer to Body Side Trim in the Body Section.
  8.  
  9. Remove both center pillar upper and lower finishers (RH/LH). Refer to Body Side Trim in the Body Section.
  10.  
  11. Remove rear pillar finishers (RH/LH). Refer to Body Side Trim in the Body Section.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect room lamp harness.
  14.  
  15. Remove front and rear body side welt (RH/LH). Refer to Body Side Trim in the Body Section.
  16.  
  17. Remove the screw from each and then remove each assist grip.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the vanity mirror connectors (if equipped), remove the sunvisor screws and then remove sun visors.
  20.  
  21. Remove the sunvisor holder screws, then remove sunvisor holders (RH/LH).
  22.  
  23. Remove sunroof opening welt, if equipped.
  24.  
  25. Remove lens and one screw, disconnect the connector and remove the map lamp assembly.
  26.  
  27. Remove lens and two screws, disconnect the connector and remove interior room lamp.
  28.  
  29. Remove the three headlining clips.
  30.  
  31. Disconnect the headliner electrical harness, if necessary.
  32.  
  33. Position the headlining so the front edge goes partially through the opening of the right side front door.

  35. Position the headlining so the rear edge goes through the opening of the left rear door, then remove headlining through the rear door opening.
    WARNING
    Two technicians should be used to avoid damage when removing or replacing headlining.


    WARNING
    During headlining removal and installation, cover the center console finisher upper surface to prevent damage.


    WARNING
    Do not bend headlining when removing.

To install:


WARNING
Avoid headlining damage when installing by inserting rear clips first during assembly.

  1. Position the headlining so the rear edge goes through the opening of the left rear door, then install headlining through the rear door opening.
  2.  
  3. Position the headlining so the front edge goes partially through the opening of the right side front door.
  4.  
  5. Connect the headliner electrical harness, if necessary.
  6.  
  7. Install the three headlining clips.
  8.  
  9. Install lens and two screws, connect the connector and install interior room lamp.
  10.  
  11. Install lens and one screw, connect the connector and install the map lamp assembly.
  12.  
  13. Install sunroof opening welt, if equipped.
  14.  
  15. Install the sunvisor holder screws, then install sunvisor holders (RH/LH).
  16.  
  17. Connect the vanity mirror connectors (if equipped), install the sunvisor screws and then install sun visors.
  18.  
  19. Install the screw to each and then install each assist grip.
  20.  
  21. Install front and rear body side welt (RH/LH). Refer to Body Side Trim in the Body Section.
  22.  
  23. Connect room lamp harness.
  24.  
  25. Install rear pillar finishers (RH/LH). Refer to Body Side Trim in the Body Section.
  26.  
  27. Install both center pillar upper and lower finishers (RH/LH). Refer to Body Side Trim in the Body Section.
  28.  
  29. Install front pillar finishers (RH/LH). Refer to Body Side Trim in the Body Section.
  30.  
  31. Install front seat belt shoulder anchors (RH/LH). Refer to Seat Belt Systems in the Body Section.
  32.  
  33. Raise front seatback to full upright position.
  34.  
  35. Connect the negative and positive battery terminals, then wait at least three minutes.
