Removal & Installation



  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the tire and wheel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the stabilizer shaft nut from the link bolt.
  6.  
  7. Remove the stabilizer shaft link bolt.
  8.  
  9. Remove the stabilizer shaft link insulators and spacers.
  10.  
  11. Remove the oil pan skid plate, if equipped.
  12.  
  13. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket bolts.
  14.  
  15. Remove the stabilizer shaft bracket.
  16.  
  17. Remove the stabilizer shaft.
  18.  
  19. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulators.
  20.  
  21. Inspect all of the parts for wear and damage.
  22.  

To install:

  1. Install the insulators to the stabilizer shaft.
  2.  
  3. Install the stabilizer shaft.
  4.  
  5. Install the brackets over the insulators and the stabilizer shaft.
  6.  
  7. Install insulator bracket bolts and tighten to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the stabilizer shaft link insulators and spacers.
  10.  
  11. Apply Loctite® on the threads of the stabilizer link bolts then install the bolts.
  12.  
  13. On 2005-06 and 2007 Classic models, install the stabilizer shaft nut to the link bolt and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm), and continue to tighten the nut until 2-4 threads protrude above the nut. On 2007 models except Classic, tighten the nuts to 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm).

  15. Install the oil pan skid plate, if equipped.
  16.  
  17. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
  18.  
  19. Remove the safety stands
  20.  
  21. Lower the vehicle.
  22.
