Possible Causes:



P0717
 
Transmission input shaft speed is less than 65 RPM for 4.5 seconds.

TCC Brake Switch Circuit Low Input

Possible Causes:



TCC brake switch circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
TCC brake switch power circuit is open (test ABS or ERL fuse)
 
TCC brake switch is out of adjustment or damaged
 
ECM has failed

Transmission Tow Mode Switch Circuit

Possible Causes:



The Tow Mode switch remains closed, low voltage, for 600 seconds.

Possible Causes:

The transmission output shaft speed is 50 RPM or less for 4.5 seconds.

The TCM detects no output shaft speed when there is vehicle speed.
 
The transmission output speed is less than 200 RPM for 5 seconds.

The transmission output shaft speed drops 1,200 RPM or greater for at least 3.25 seconds.

The TCM detects an unrealistic drop in output shaft speed.
 
ISS DTC P0723 has not failed this ignition.
 
The transmission output speed is 1,000 RPM or greater for 2 seconds.
 
The transmission output speed drops 1,300 RPM for greater than 4 seconds and does not recover.

The TCM detects the brake switch circuit is open during accelerations.

TCC System Mechanically Stuck Off

Possible Causes:



Converter clutch apply valve stuck in "off" (release) position
 
Misaligned or damaged valve body gasket
 
Restricted apply valve passage
 
TCC PWM valve exhaust orifice in damaged or it has failed
 
TCC solenoid valve mechanically stuck in "off" position

The TCM detects the TCC slip between -20 and +40 RPM for 4 seconds when the TCC is commanded OFF. This must occur 3 times.

Both of the following conditions must occur twice during the same trip:
 
The TCM commands 1st gear and the resulting gear ratio is 1.54:1-1.71:1 for 2 seconds.
 
The TCM commands 4th gear and the resulting gear ratio is 0.95:1-1.05:1 for 3 seconds.

Shift Solenoid (SS) 1 Valve Performance - Stuck On

Possible Causes:



The commanded gear is third.
 
The attained gear slip is equal to or greater than 75 RPM for 2 seconds.
 
The TFP Switch 5 does not change states after third gear command.

Shift Solenoid (SS) 2 Valve Performance - Stuck Off

Possible Causes:



Commanded gear is 1st locked.
 
Transmission gearbox slip is 200 RPM for 10 seconds.
 
Transmission forces 2nd gear.
 
Transmission has obtained a valid 2nd for 3 seconds.

2-3 Shift Solenoid (SS) Valve Performance - No First or Second Gear

Both of the following conditions must occur twice during the same trip:
 
The TCM commands 1st gear and the resulting gear ratio is 0.66:1-0.73:1 for 2 seconds.
 
The TCM commands 2nd gear and the resulting gear ratio is 0.95:1-1.05:1 for 3 seconds.

Both of the following conditions must occur twice during the same trip:
 
The TCM commands 3rd gear and the resulting gear ratio is 1.54:1-1.71:1 for 2 seconds.
 
The TCM commands 4th, when the engine torque is greater than 10 N·m (7 lb ft) and the resulting gear ratio is 2.91:1-3.21:1 for 2 seconds.

The TCM detects an incorrect on-coming clutch gear ratio, or flare, when the 3-5-R clutch is commanded On for 2.25 seconds and the transmission input shaft speed is greater than 60 to 100 RPM from the anticipated input shaft speed.

The TCM detects an incorrect off-going clutch gear ratio, or tie-up, when the 3-5-R clutch is commanded Off for 1.2 seconds and the transmission input shaft speed is greater than 40 RPM from the anticipated input shaft speed.

DTC P0777 sets when the TCM detects the off-going clutch, controlled by PCS2, remains engaged during a forward range shift.

The following condition occurs for 5 seconds:
 
The TCM commands the solenoid OFF and the voltage feedback remains low, 0 volts.

The TCM detects an incorrect off-going clutch gear ratio, or tie-up, when the low and reverse/4-5-6 clutch is commanded ON for 0.5 seconds and the transmission input shaft speed is greater than 40 RPM from the anticipated input shaft speed.

DTC P0827 sets when the transmission control module (TCM) detects a short to ground condition in the TAP up/down shift switch circuit for greater than 6 seconds when driver shift request is commanded.

DTC P0828 sets when the transmission control module (TCM) detects a short to ground condition in the TAP up/down shift switch circuit for greater than 6 seconds when driver shift request is commanded.

The TCM detects that the TFP switch 1 signal voltage remains low, 0 volts when the 3-5-R clutch is commanded ON.
