Trouble Code: P0572



Brake Switch Circuit 1 Low Voltage

Possible Causes:



P0572
 
The ECM detects a low voltage signal on the stop lamp switch signal circuit for more than 2 seconds when the serial data message from the BCM indicates the brakes are applied. The ECM sets the DTC when the condition has been detected 8 out of 10 times.

Possible Causes:



The ECM receives an invalid cruise control switch status serial data message from the BCM.
 
This diagnostic runs continuously.

The ECM must be replaced to correct this problem. A new ECM must be programmed with the correct software/calibration.

High resistance, short or open condition to the ECM

Possible Causes:



Reprogram the ECM with the correct software and calibration. If this step does not correct the problem, the ECM must be replaced and programmed with the correct software/calibration.

Possible Causes:



Check the voltage and ground inputs to the ECM for a, short, open or high resistance
 
ECM has failed

Possible Causes:



An interruption to the ECM main power and/or ground circuits
 
Check the ECM power and ground circuits and make repairs as necessary. Clear the codes and recheck. If it resets, the ECM must be replaced and programmed with the correct software.

DTC P0634 sets if the TCM internal temperature is greater than or equal to 140°C (284°F) for 10 seconds with the engine running.

5v VREF circuit is shorted to chassis or sensor ground
 
5v VREF circuit to FTP. APP, EOP, and CMP sensors circuit is shorted to (B+)

Possible Causes:



The digital response signal is high and the command 2 signal is activated.

Fuel line pressure sensor, 5v VREF circuit shorted to ground or an open/high resistance
 
Fuel line pressure sensor, 5v VREF circuit for a shorted to voltage
 
Fuel line pressure sensor, low reference circuit for an open/high resistance
 
FECM has failed
 
ECM has failed

5v VREF circuit is shorted to chassis or sensor ground
 
5v VREF circuit to FTP. CMP IMTV or TP sensor circuit is shorted to (B+)

A/C relay control circuit is open, shorted to ground or to power
