Removal & Installation



Wiper Motor

Specific to:

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2008

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wiper arm.

  7. Remove the air inlet grille.
  8.  
  9. Remove the bolts securing the wiper assembly. Lift the assembly and detach the connector then remove it from the vehicle.
  10.  
  11. If necessary, remove the motor from the wiper assembly.

To install:


NOTE
Be sure to use new fasteners, as required.

  1. Position the wiper motor assembly on its mounting.
  2.  
  3. Attach the electrical connections.
  4.  
  5. Install the retaining bolts. Tighten the bolts to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Continue the installation in the reverse order of the removal procedure.
  8.  

Wiper Washer

Specific to:

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2008

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  6.  
  7. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the front wheelhouse liner assembly.

  11. Remove the lower outer bolt from the solvent container.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the component. Disconnect the washer hoses.
  14.  
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16.  
  17. Remove the washer container solvent cap.
  18.  
  19. Remove the auxiliary battery tray, if equipped.

  21. Remove the upper container mounting bolts.
  22.  
  23. Remove the solvent container from the underside of the vehicle thru the wheelhouse opening.
  24.  
  25. Secure the solvent container to the work bench.
  26.  
  27. Using flat bladed tool, gently pry upward on the pump to disengage it from the container.
  28.  
  29. Discard the grommet.
    NOTE
    Be sure to use new fasteners, as required.

  31. Position the component on its mounting.
  32.  
  33. Continue the installation in the reverse order of the removal procedure.
