Removal & Installation
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
- Raise and support the vehicle safely.
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
- Remove 2 / 3 of the brake fluid from the master cylinder
Using a C-clamp or the equivalent, compress the caliper piston until the caliper piston bottoms in the bore.
Brake hose at caliper by removing the inlet fitting bolt. Plug the line.
Inspect the caliper assembly.
Be sure to use new fasteners, as required.
Install or connect the following:
Caliper. Tighten the caliper guide pin bolts to 74 ft. lbs. (100 Nm) on JD9, JF3 and JF7. or 80 ft. lbs. (108 Nm) on JH6 and JH7.
Bleed the brakes. Be sure to use the proper grade and type brake fluid.
