Brake Calipers

Removal & Installation



  1. Unscrew the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the rear wheel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the wear indicator.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake hose at the brake caliper.
    NOTE
    Cap the ends of the brake lines.

  10.  
  11. Remove the brake caliper guide bolts and remove the brake caliper.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Install the brake caliper to the brake caliper adapter. Tighten the guide pin bolts as follows:
    1. M8 bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
    2.  
    3. M10 bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
    4.

  3. Install the brake hose to the brake caliper and tighten to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).
    NOTE
    Ensure the brake hose is not twisted.

  5. Install the wear indicator and tighten the bolt to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Bleed and brake system and check for leaks.
  8.  
  9. Install the rear wheel.
  10.  
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12.  

  1. Unscrew the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.

  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the rear wheel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the wear indicator.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake hose at the brake caliper.
    NOTE
    Cap the ends of the brake lines.

  11. Remove the brake caliper guide bolts and remove the brake caliper.
  12.  

To install:

DUAL REAR WHEELS (DRW):

  1. Install the brake caliper to brake caliper adapter. Tighten the guide pin bolts as follows:
    1. M8 bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 N·m).
    2.  
    3. M10 bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N·m).
      NOTE
      Do not install the brake hose twisted and ensure freedom of movement.

  3. Install the brake hose at the brake caliper. Tighten the bolt to 10 ft. lbs. (14 N·m).
  4.  
  5. Install the wear indicator to the caliper. Tighten to 89 in. lbs. (10 N·m).
  6.  
  7. Bleed the brake system.
  8.  
  9. Check the brake system for any leaks.
  10.  
  11. Install the rear wheels.
  12.  
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14.  

SINGLE REAR WHEELS) (SRW):

  1. Install the brake caliper to the brake caliper adapter. Tighten the guide pin bolts as follows:
    1. M8 bolts to 24 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).
    2.  
    3. M10 bolts to 48 ft. lbs. (65 Nm).
    4.

  3. Install the brake hose to the brake caliper and tighten to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).
    NOTE
    Ensure the brake hose is not twisted.

  5. Install the wear indicator and tighten the bolt to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Bleed and brake system and check for leaks.
  8.  
  9. Install the rear wheel.
  10.  
  11. Lower the vehicle.
