CAUTION
Be careful, the exhaust system and turbocharger temperatures are high while the engine is operating. Serious burns could result from contact.

  1. Ensure that the ignition is OFF .
  2.  
  3. Remove the air cleaner and air flow meter:
    1. Loosen the hose clamp.
    2.  
    3. Remove the boot from the air cleaner cover.
    4.  
    5. Release the clips on the air cleaner cover.
    6.  
    7. Place the air cleaner cover together with the air flow meter on the engine.
    8.

Always keep air cleaner, vacuum hose, etc. free from dirt and dust.

  1. Disconnect the wiring harness and hose from the vacuum pump assembly.
  2.  
  3. Remove the vacuum pump assembly and the valve assembly as a unit. Tighten the mounting nuts to 65 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  4.  

To install:
  1. Position and secure the vacuum pump assembly using the retainer nuts and bolts. Tighten the mounting nuts and bolts to 65 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Attach the wire harness and vacuum hose assembly to the pump.
  4.  
  5. Install the air flow meter and air cleaner assemblies.
  6.  
  7. Test drive the vehicle to make sure the cruise control system functions correctly.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the wiring harness and hose. Be sure to always disconnect the hose at the body pipe side.
  4.  
  5. Remove the attaching nuts, then disconnect the ABS sensor connector clip from the bracket and remove the vacuum pump assembly.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Install the vacuum pump to the bracket and tighten the mounting nuts to 65 inch lbs. (7.4 Nm). Connect the ABS sensor clip.
  2.  
  3. Attach the wire harness and vacuum line.
  4.  
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Test the cruise control system.
  6.
