Blower Switch

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Justy
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable
  2.  
  3. Remove the blower switch control knob.
  4.  
  5. Remove the control panel from the dash assembly.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the wire harness and cables from the control panel.
  8.  
  9. Remove the blower switch retainer screws from the rear of the control panel. Lift the blower switch out from the control panel.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Position the blower switch in the control panel.
  2.  
  3. Secure the blower switch to the control panel using the retainer screws.
  4.  
  5. Attach the wire harness and cables to the control panel.
  6.  
  7. Install the control panel to the dash assembly.
  8.  
  9. Install the blower switch control knob.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  
  13. Test the fan switch for proper operation on all speeds.
  14.  

Sedan, Coupe, Loyale, Wagon and Brat
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the blower switch control knob.
  4.  
  5. Loosen and remove the blower switch retainer nut.
  6.  
  7. Remove the control panel from the dash.
  8.  
  9. Remove the blower switch from the rear of the control panel.
  10.  
  11. Unfasten the wire harness from the blower switch.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Fasten the wire harness to the blower switch.
  2.  
  3. Position the blower switch in the rear of the control panel.
  4.  
  5. Install the blower switch retainer nut, and tighten snugly.
  6.  
  7. Install the control panel to the dash assembly.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  
  11. Test the blower switch to make sure it functions at all speeds.
  12.  

XT
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the console box and control panel assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove the blower switch retainer screws, and lift out the blower switch and control knobs.
  6.  
  7. Unfasten the wire harness from the blower switch.
  8.  
  9. Remove the control knobs from the switch assembly.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Attach the knobs to the switch assembly.
  2.  
  3. Connect the wire harness to the blower switch.
  4.  
  5. Install the blower switch, and secure in place with the retainer screws.
  6.  
  7. Install the control panel and console box.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  
  11. Test the blower switch to make sure it functions correctly on all speeds.
  12.  

Legacy and Impreza
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the control panel, and disconnect the wire harness from the rear of the assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove the blower switch retainer screws, and lift out the switch assembly.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Install the blower switch, and secure in place with the retainer screws.
  2.  
  3. Attach the wire harness to the control panel. Install the control panel to the dash panel.
  4.  
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6.  
  7. Test the blower switch on all speed setting to make sure it functions correctly.
  8.  

SVX

The blower switch is an integral part of the control panel assembly, and is not replaceable or serviceable by itself. In the event the fan switch requires service, the entire control panel must be replaced.
