Subaru Coupes/Sedans/Wagons 1985-1996 Repair Guide

Standard Transaxle (Including 4WD)

There are no adjustments that can be made on the shift linkage for standard transaxles or for the rear drive system. If you experience looseness or too much play in shifting it is a sign of worn parts, which should be replaced.

This switch is threaded into the clutch pedal bracket and is retained in position by an adjustment nut and a locknut.

With the clutch pedal depressed, measure the clutch switch contact pin length. It should extend 0.197-0.256 in. (5-1.5mm). If not, loosen the locknut and adjust the adjustment nut until the correct length is achieved.
