Fig. Fig. 2: Check for continuity at these positions

  1. Disconnect the height sensor wire harness at the air shock.
  2.
  3. Disconnect air shock line and bleed air from the shock.
  4.
  5. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the terminals of the height sensor side of the wire harness.
  6.
  7. While using the ohmmeter, compress and extend the shock, and observe when there is continuity.
  8.
  9. If not as specified replace or repair the height sensor.

Fig. Fig. 4: Height sensor and air line disconnect from the shock assembly

  1. Disconnect the air line from the solenoid valve.
  2.
  3. Disconnect the height control wire harness.
  4.
  5. With shock compressed, check that the resistance between terminal 2 and 4 is a minimum of 1 megohm.
  6.
  7. With the shock expanded check that the resistance between terminal 2 and 4 is 0 ohms.
  8.
  9. With the shock compressed, check that the resistance between terminal 2 and 3 is 0 ohms.
  10.
  11. With the shock expanded, check that the resistance between terminal 2 and 3 is a minimum of 1 megohm.
  12.
  13. If not as specified, replace the height sensor.
  14.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.
  3. Disconnect the height sensor wire harness at the air shock.
  4.
  5. Disconnect the air line, and bleed the air from the strut.
  6.
  7. Remove the strut from the vehicle.
  8.
  9. Remove the height sensor from the top of the strut tower.
  10.

To install:
  1. Install the height sensor into the top of the strut tower. Make sure the sensor is seated evenly.
  2.
  3. Install the strut on to the vehicle.
  4.
  5. Connect the height sensor wire harness at the air shock.
  6.
  7. Connect air shock line and bleed air from the shock.
  8.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.
  11. Start the vehicle, and allow the shock to build up air before driving.
