Solenoid Valve

TESTING



  1. Disconnect the solenoid wire harness at the shock.
  2.  
  3. Apply 12 volts across each terminal of the solenoid valve.
  4.  
  5. Listen for sound of the solenoid functioning.
  6.  
  7. If no sound is heard, replace the solenoid valve.
  8.  
  9. Check for approximately 30 ohms of resistance between the terminals of the valve.
  10.  
  11. If not as specified, replace the solenoid valve.
  12.  

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Tag and disconnect the air lines attached to the solenoid valve.
  4.  
  5. Remove the bolts securing the solenoid valve to the bracket.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the height sensor and compressor relay harnesses.
  8.  
  9. Remove the solenoid valve.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Attach the compressor relay and height sensor wire harnesses.
  2.  
  3. Install the solenoid valve to the bracket, and secure in place with the retainer bolts. Tighten the bolts snugly.
  4.  
  5. Connect the air lines to the solenoid valve.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  
  9. Start the vehicle, and allow enough time for air to fill the shock before driving.
  10.  

Rear

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the rear of the vehicle on jackstands.
  4.  
  5. Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Remove the solenoid valve protector.
  8.  
  9. Remove the solenoid from the strut assembly.
  10.  
  11. Attach the solenoid to the strut. Tighten the retainer bolts snugly.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the air lines from the solenoid valve.
  14.  

To install:
  1. Attach the air lines to the solenoid valve assembly.
  2.  
  3. Install the solenoid valve protector.
  4.  
  5. Install the strut assembly in the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  
  11. Start the vehicle, and allow enough time for air to fill the shock before driving.
