Wiper Linkage

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Justy, Sedan, Coupe, Loyale, XT, Wagon and Brat
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wiper arms.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wiper motor.
  6.  
  7. Loosen the self-tapping screws and remove the cowl panel.
  8.  
  9. Remove the nuts which secure the wiper linkage in place to the cowl.
  10.  
  11. Remove the wiper bracket attaching bolts.
  12.  
  13. Remove the linkage through the cowl opening.
  14.  

To install:
  1. Place the linkage into the cowl opening and secure in place using the retainer bolts. Tighten the bolts to 65 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Attach the cowl panel to the linkage assembly using the retainer nuts. Tighten the nuts snugly.
  4.  
  5. Install the cowl panel using the self-tapping screws.
  6.  
  7. Install the wiper motor and arms.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  
  11. Check for proper wiper operation.
  12.  

Legacy and Impreza

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wiper arms.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wiper motor.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 6 nuts which secure the wiper linkage in place to the cowl.
  8.  
  9. Separate the left and right linkage assembly at the center joint.
  10.  
  11. Remove the linkage through the wiper motor opening.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Place the linkage into the cowl opening, left linkage assembly first, then right, and secure attach at the center joint.
  2.  
  3. Attach the linkage to the cowl panel using the retainer nuts. Tighten the nuts to 39-65 inch lbs. (4-7 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the wiper motor and arms.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  
  9. Check for proper wiper operation.
  10.  

SVX
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wiper arms.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wiper motor.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 6 nuts which secure the wiper linkage in place to the cowl.
  8.  
  9. Separate the left and right linkage assembly at the center joint and motor.
  10.  
  11. Remove the linkage through the wiper motor opening.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Place the linkage into the cowl opening, left linkage assembly first, then right, and secure attach at the center joint and motor joint.
  2.  
  3. Attach the linkage to the cowl panel using the retainer nuts. Tighten the nuts to 39-65 inch lbs. (4-7 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the wiper motor and arms.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  
  9. Check for proper wiper operation.
  10.
