Removal & Installation

WARNING
The radiator is pressurized. Wait until engine cools down before working on the radiator.

  1. Set the vehicle on a lift.
  2.  
  3. Remove the collector cover.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  6.  
  7. Lift-up the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Remove the under cover.
  10.  
  11. Drain engine coolant completely.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the radiator hose from radiator.

  15. Remove the bolts on the underside of the radiator stay.

  17. Lower the vehicle.
  18.  
  19. Remove the air intake duct.
  20.  
  21. Remove the front upper cover.

  25. Remove the radiator stay by performing the following:

    Remove the latch

    Remove the radiator hose bracket
     
    Remove the clip holding the harness

    Remove the bolts on the left side of the radiator stay

    Remove the bolts on the right side of the radiator stay

  27. Disconnect the connector from radiator fan control unit.

  29. Remove the reservoir tank.

  31. Disconnect the radiator hose from radiator.

  33. Disconnect the ATF cooler hose from the radiator.
    NOTE
    Plug the ATF pipe to prevent ATF leaks.

  35. Remove the front bumper.
  36.  
  37. Remove the bolts which hold the radiator and condenser.

  39. Remove the clip holding the ambient temperature sensor harness.

  41. Lift the radiator up and away from vehicle.
  42.  

To install:

  1. Install the radiator lower cushion to the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Install the radiator to vehicle.
    NOTE
    Insert the pins on the lower side of radiator into the radiator lower cushions on the vehicle side.

  4.  
  5. Hold the harness of the ambient temperature sensor with a clip.
  6.  
  7. Hold the radiator and condenser with bolts. Tighten to 60 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the front bumper. Tighten the front bumper beam to 24 ft. lbs. (33 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Connect the ATF cooler hoses.
  12.  
  13. Connect the radiator hose.
  14.  
  15. Install the reservoir tank.
  16.  
  17. Connect the connector of the radiator fan control unit.
  18.  
  19. Install the radiator stay by performing the following:

    Install the latch. Torque to 25 ft. lbs.(33 Nm)
     
    Install the radiator hose bracket
     
    Hold the harness to the radiator stay with a clip
     
    Tighten the bolts on the left side of the radiator stay. Tighten to 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm)
     
    Tighten the bolts on the right side of the radiator stay. Tighten to 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm)

  21. Install the radiator upper brackets. Tighten to 9 ft. lbs. (12 Nm)
  22.  
  23. Lift up the vehicle.
  24.  
  25. Connect the radiator hose.
  26.  
  27. Tighten the bolts on the lower side of the radiator stay. Tighten to 13.3 ft. lbs. (18 Nm).

  29. Lower the vehicle.
  30.  
  31. Connect the ground cable to battery.
  32.  
  33. Fill engine coolant.
  34.  
  35. Check the ATF level and replenish it if necessary.
  36.  
  37. Lift up the vehicle.
  38.  
  39. Install the under cover.
  40.  
  41. Lower the vehicle.
  42.  
  43. Install the front upper cover.
  44.  
  45. Install the air intake duct and fasten clip holing the air intake duct.
  46.  
  47. Install the collector cover.
  48.
