Bushing Replacement



  1. Remove the control arm from the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Scribe a matchmark on the control arm and rear bushing.
  4.  
  5. Press out the old bushing.
  6.  
  7. Install the rear bushing to the control arm, making sure to align the marks made during removal.
  8.  

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Loosen the wheel nuts.
  4.  
  5. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  6.  
  7. Remove the tire and wheel.
  8.  
  9. Remove the bracket and remove the parking brake cable from the guide.
  10.  
  11. Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor harness from the trailing link.
  12.  
  13. As required, support the assembly before removing the trailing link.
  14.  
  15. Remove the trailing link from the vehicle.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Be sure to use new bolts and nuts, as required.
  4.  
  5. Tighten the trailing link retaining bolts to 89 ft. lbs (120 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Tighten the parking brake cable bracket to 24 ft. lbs (33 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Always fully tighten the rubber bushings when the wheels are in full contact with the ground and the vehicle is at curb height.
  10.  
  11. Check and adjust the wheel alignment, as necessary.
