Possible Causes:



Vent control solenoid connector is damaged (shorted to power)

Vent control solenoid is damaged or it has failed

EVAP Tank Pressure Sensor Signal Range/Performance

Possible Causes:



EVAP canister is dirty or severely restricted
 
EVAP air suction filter is dirty or its passage is clogged
 
Fuel vapor passage is clogged between tank and the canister
 
Tank pressure sensor connector is damaged or loose
 
Tank pressure sensor circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
Tank pressure sensor is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed

EVAP Tank Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Input

Possible Causes:



Tank pressure sensor connector is damaged or shorted
 
Tank pressure sensor circuit is shorted to ground

EVAP Tank Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input

Possible Causes:



Tank pressure sensor connector is damaged or loose
 
Tank pressure sensor circuit is open or shorted to VREF
 
Tank pressure sensor is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0455



EVAP System Large Leak (0.080") Detected

Possible Causes:



EVAP charcoal canister is loaded with fuel or moisture
 
EVAP canister air valve has failed, or its circuit is shorted
 
Fuel tank cap is missing, leaking or the wrong part number
 
Fuel tank is cracked (leaking), or a leak exists in the 'O' ring
 
Fuel level sensor is damaged or has failed
 
Fuel pressure control valve is damaged or its circuit is shorted
 
Fuel pressure sensor is damaged or has failed
 
Fuel vapor line(s), fuel pipes or hoses are damaged or leaking
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0461



Fuel Level Sensor Signal Range/Performance

Possible Causes:



Fuel gauge is the wrong part number or installed incorrectly
 
Fuel gauge sender unit is damaged or has failed
 
Fuel level meter is damaged or has failed
 
Fuel tank empty or overfull (fuel sender is stuck mechanically)
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0463



Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Input

Possible Causes:



Combination meter is damaged or has failed
 
Fuel level signal circuit is open (Yellow, Yellow/Red or Black/Orange wire) between the splice and the I/P connector
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0480



Radiator Fan Relay Control System Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Radiator fan relay connector is damaged or loose
 
Radiator fan relay control circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
Radiator fan relay power circuit is open (check the relay fuse)
 
Radiator fan relay is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0481



A/C Condenser Fan Relay Control System Malfunction

Possible Causes:



A/C condenser fan relay connector is damaged or loose
 
A/C condenser fan relay circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
A/C condenser fan relay is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0496



EVAP System Flow During Non-Purge Conditions

Possible Causes:



Canister purge solenoid control circuit (Blue/Black wire) is shorted to ground
 
Fuel level sensor is damaged or has failed
 
Fuel pressure control valve is damaged or its circuit is shorted
 
Fuel pressure sensor is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0500



Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Speedometer is damaged or it has failed
 
VSS circuit is open (Black/Orange or Black/White wire)
 
VSS circuit is shorted to ground (Purple or Black/White wire)
 
Vehicle speed sensor is damaged or it has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0505



Idle Speed Control System

Possible Causes:



Fast idle control system is damaged or has failed
 
IAC valve control circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
IAC valve power circuit is open (check power from the relay)
 
IAC valve ground circuit is open
 
IAC valve is damaged or has failed
 
Intake air system is clogged or leaking
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0603



PCM EEPROM Memory Error

Possible Causes:



The contents of the EEPROM have changed
 
Clear the trouble codes, and recheck for the same code. If the same code resets, the PCM has failed.
