Brake Disc (Rotor)

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Wheel and tire
     
    Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts
     
    Remove brake caliper as an assembly and position to the side with a wire
     

  4.  
  5. Remove the rotor from its mounting.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Install the following:

    Rotor
     
    Brake caliper as an assembly. Tighten the M14 bolts to 78 ft. lbs. (105 Nm), then angle-tighten 60°
     
    Install wheel. Tighten lug nuts to 102 ft. lbs. (138 Nm)
     

  2.  

  1. Hoist vehicle and remove wheel.
  2.  
  3. Remove caliper assembly by removing caliper carrier bolts (2 pcs)
    CAUTION
    During removal, be careful not to damage brake flexible hose and not to depress brake pedal.


    NOTE
    Hang removed caliper with a wire hook or the like so as to prevent brake hose from bending and twisting excessively or being pulled. Don-t operate brake pedal with brake pads removed.

  4.  
  5. Pull brake disc off by using 8 mm bolts (1) (2 pcs).

  6.  

To install:

  1. Install disc to wheel hub.
  2.  
  3. Install caliper assembly to steering knuckle.
  4.  
  5. Torque caliper carrier bolts to 61.5 ft. lbs. (85 Nm).

  7. Torque front wheel nuts to 61.5 ft. lbs. (85 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Upon completion of installation, perform brake test.
