    Top transaxle-to-engine bolts

    Starter

    Exhaust manifold cover

Front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold

  12.
  13. Support the engine.

    Engine undercovers, if equipped.

    Transaxle cooler hoses

  14.
  15. On Esteem models, with the engine supported, remove the vehicle center mounting member by removing the 7 nuts and 4 bolts.

Front exhaust pipe from the vehicle

    Transaxle stiffener plate

    Transaxle housing lower plate

Torque converter bolts. To lock the drive plate, engage a flat bladed tool in the flywheel.

Sway bar from the control arms

    Left and right front wheels

Left and right ball joints from the steering knuckles

  16.
  17. After removing the rear mount, remove the engine-to-transaxle bolt and nut located behind the rear bracket. Remove all bolts holding the engine to the transaxle.
  18.
  19. Support the transaxle with a transaxle jack.
  20.
  21. Remove or disconnect the following:
    NOTE
When removing the transaxle from the engine, move it parallel with the crankshaft and use care so not to apply excessive force to the drive plate and torque converter.

    CAUTION
Be sure to keep the transaxle with the torque converter horizontal or facing up throughout the work. Should it be tilted with converter down, the converter may fall off and cause personal injury.
