Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Wait for a least 1 minute for the air bag system to deplete its energy before working on any part the instrument panel.
  6.  
  7. Drain the cooling system into a clean container for reuse.
  8.  
  9. Remove the instrument panel.
  10.  
  11. Remove the rear air duct.
  12.  
  13. Remove the heater housing.
  14.  
  15. Remove the fasteners and separate the blower motor from the heater housing.

To install:

  1. Install the blower motor to the heater housing assembly and tighten the fasteners.
  2.  
  3. Install the heater housing.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear air duct.
  6.  
  7. Install the instrument panel.
  8.  
  9. Refill the cooling system.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  
  13. Operate the engine to normal operating temperatures; then, check the climate control operation and check for leaks.
  14.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Drain the cooling system into a clean container for reuse.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the heater hoses at the heater core. Plug the heater hoses.
  8.  
  9. Remove the console box.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the electrical wires and control cables from the heater housing.
  12.  
  13. Remove the instrument panel.
  14.  
  15. Remove the heater housing mounting bolts and remove it from the vehicle.
  16.  
  17. Remove the fasteners and separate the blower motor from the heater housing.
  18.  

To install:

  1. Install the blower motor to the heater housing assembly and tighten the fasteners.
  2.  
  3. Install the heater housing and mounting bolts.
  4.  
  5. Install the instrument panel.
  6.  
  7. Connect the electrical wires and control cables to the heater housing.
  8.  
  9. Install the console box.
  10.  
  11. Connect the heater hoses at the heater core.
  12.  
  13. Refill the cooling system.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
  16.  
  17. Operate the engine to normal operating temperatures; then, check the climate control operation and check for leaks.
