Swift And Esteem
With Wheel Hubs
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheels.
  4.  
  5. Remove the 2 brake drum screws.
  6.  
  7. Pull the brake drum off using two 8mm bolts.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Install the brake drum.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the brake drum screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the wheels.

Without Wheel Hubs
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheels.
  4.  
  5. Remove the spindle dust cap.
  6.  
  7. Remove the sealer from the spindle nut and remove the spindle nut and washer.
  8.  
  9. Install the brake drum removal tool 09943-17911, to the brake drum, then attach a slide hammer to the tool and remove the brake drum.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the brake drum.
  2.  
  3. Install the spindle washer and a new spindle nut. Torque the spindle nut to 58-86 ft. lbs. (80-120 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Apply sealer to the spindle nut.
  6.  
  7. Install the spindle dust cap.
  8.  
  9. Install the wheels.
  10.  

With Rear Hub Bearing
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheels.
  4.  
  5. Remove the 2 brake drum screws.
  6.  
  7. Pull the brake drum off using two 8mm bolts.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Install the brake drum.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the brake drum screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the wheels.

Without Rear Hub Bearing
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheels.
  4.  
  5. Remove the spindle dust cap.
  6.  
  7. Remove the sealer from the spindle nut and remove the spindle nut and washer.
  8.  
  9. Install the brake drum removal tool 09943-17911, to the brake drum, then attach a slide hammer to the tool and remove the brake drum.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the brake drum.
  2.  
  3. Install the spindle washer and a new spindle nut. Torque the spindle nut to 58-86 ft. lbs. (80-120 Nm).

  6.  
  7. Install the spindle dust cap.
  8.  
  9. Install the wheels.
