Power Sunroof



Diagnosis & Testing
  1. Turn ignition on.
  2.  
  3. Check fuse f8.
  4.  
  5. Check ground connections
  6.  
  7. Check voltage at terminal 5 interior courtesy lamp/power sunroof control switch connector.
  8.  
  9. Check voltage at sunroof motor.

Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the headliner.
  4.  
  5. Remove the drain hoses.

  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screws and the motor.

  11. Remove the motor control module.
  12.  
  13. Remove the bolts and the housing from the vehicle.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Install the housing to the roof of the vehicle with the bolts.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the sunroof housing bolts to 89 inch. lbs. (10 Nm)
  4.  
  5. Install the motor control module.
  6.  
  7. Install the motor with the screws.
  8.  
  9. Tighten the sunroof motor screws to 27 inch. lbs. (3 Nm)
  10.  
  11. Connect the electrical connectors.
  12.  
  13. Install the drain hoses.
  14.  
  15. Install the headliner.
  16.  
  17. Connect the negative battery cable.
  18.  

Motor
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the headliner.
  4.  
  5. Remove the drain hoses.

  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screws and the motor.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the motor with the screws.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the sunroof motor screws to 27 inch. lbs. (3 Nm)
  4.  
  5. Connect the electrical connectors.
  6.  
  7. Install the drain hoses.
  8.  
  9. Install the headliner.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  

Switch
  1. Check fuse f8.
  2.  
  3. With the sunroof switch in the CLOSE position, check for voltage at terminal of the sunroof module connector.
  4.  
  5. With the sunroof in the open position check for Voltage.
  6.
