Windshield Wiper System

Wiper Arms



  1. Open the hood.
  2.  
  3. Remove the cap to reveal the wiper arm nut, if necessary.
  4.  
  5. Remove the nut from the wiper arm.
  6.  
  7. Pull the wiper arm off.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Install the wiper arm.
  2.  
  3. Secure the wiper arm with the nut.
  4.  
  5. Tighten the wiper arm nut to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm)
  6.  
  7. Install the wiper arm nut cap, if necessary.
  8.  
  9. Close the hood.
  10.  

Wiper Motor



Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the left-side portion of the cowl vent grille.
  4.  
  5. Remove the nut and the washer that secure the wiper arm linkage to the motor drive shaft.
  6.  
  7. Pry the wiper arm linkage off the motor drive shaft.
  8.  
  9. Remove the nuts.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  12.  
  13. Remove the bolts and the wiper motor.

To install:

  1. Install the wiper motor with the bolts.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the wiper motor bolts to 71 inch lbs.(8 Nm)
  4.  
  5. Connect the electrical connector.
  6.  
  7. Press the wiper arm linkage onto the motor drive shaft.
  8.  
  9. Install the wiper arm linkage to the motor drive shaft with the washer and the nut.
  10.  
  11. Tighten the wiper arm linkage nut to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm)
  12.  
  13. Install the left side portion of the cowl vent grille.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.

Wiper Switch



Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the upper and the lower steering column cover panel screws.
  4.  
  5. Remove the upper and the lower steering column cover panels.

  7. Remove the wiper switch by pushing the tabs on the top and the bottom of the switch housing.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper switch.

To install:

  1. Connect the electrical connector to the wiper switch.
  2.  
  3. Install the wiper switch by snapping it into the switch housing.
  4.  
  5. Install the upper and the lower steering column cover panels. Install the upper and the lower steering column cover panel screws.
    NOTE
    Tighten the upper and the lower steering column cover panel screws to 22 inches. lbs. (2.5 Nm)

  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.
