ADJUSTMENT

See Figure 1

It may be necessary to disconnect the actuator cable from the throttle body lever during various engine procedures. After reattaching the actuator cable to the throttle lever, adjust its end-play as follows:

  1. Remove the actuator cover.
  2.
  3. Loosen the locknuts.
  4.

Fig. Fig. 1: Loosen the locknuts until 0.04-0.08 in. (1-2mm) cable end-play is achieved

  1. Move the actuator cable sleeve in the mounting bracket so that 0.04-0.08 in. (1-2mm) of cable end-play is achieved when the actuator lever is at the fully closed position. (Actually, the lever can deviate from the fully closed position by no more than 0.08-0.12 in. (2-3mm), which is "a" in the accompanying illustration. However, try to get the lever as closed as possible for this adjustment.)
  2.
  3. Tighten the locknuts to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm).
  4.
  5. Install the actuator cover.
  6.
