Fuel Injected Engines

Due to the fact that the fuel supply lines are under high pressure, the fuel supply lines use screw couplings. Any time these fittings are loosened or tightened, ensure that a back-up wrench is used, and that they are tightened to 29-36 ft. lbs. (40-50 Nm).

The fuel return hoses use conventional screw-type hose clamps. Position the hose clamps on the hoses as indicated in the accompanying illustration for proper hose sealing.

Inspect the fuel lines for evidence of fuel leakage, hose cracking and deterioration, or other damage. Ensure all hose clamps are secure. If any damage is evident, replace all necessary fuel lines.
