REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Sidekick, Tracker, Sidekick Sport and X-90 Models

See Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4

  1. Loosen all of the rear wheel lug nuts 1 / 2 turn.
  2.  
  3. Block the front wheels, then raise and safely support the rear of the vehicle on jackstands.
  4.

  1. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.

  1. Disconnect the parking brake cable hanger from the trailing rod by removing the nut and bolt.
  2.  
  3. Support the rear axle assembly with a suitable jack.
  4.  
  5. Remove the trailing rod rear nut, bolt and washer.
  6.  
  7. Remove the trailing rod front nut, bolt and washer and remove the trailing rod.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Position the control arm, then install the front and rear mounting nuts and bolts.
  2.

  1. Tighten the mounting nuts and bolts to 58-72 ft. lbs. (80-100 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Connect the parking brake cable hanger to the control arm and install the mounting nut and bolt.
  4.  
  5. Remove the jack.
  6.  
  7. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
  8.  
  9. Lower the vehicle, and remove the wheel blocks.
  10.
