Hydraulic System Bleeding



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2.  
  3. Fill the master cylinder reservoir to the MAX line with clean brake fluid and keep it at least half full throughout the bleeding procedure.
  4.  
  5. From beneath the vehicle, remove the bleeder plug cap, then attach a clear vinyl tube to the slave cylinder bleeder plug. Insert the open end of the hose into a container.
  6.  
  7. Have an assistant depress the clutch pedal. Open the bleeder after the pedal is depressed.
  8.  
  9. Close the bleeder before releasing the clutch pedal.
  10.  
  11. Repeat until all air bubbles are gone from the hydraulic fluid.
  12.  
  13. Install the bleeder plug cap.
  14.  
  15. Fill the clutch master cylinder fluid reservoir to the specified full level.
