Removal & Installation



  1. Siphon about 2 / 3 of the fluid out of the master cylinder.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wheels.
  6.  
  7. Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts and remove the caliper from the mounting bracket.
  8.  
  9. Support the caliper with a wire.
  10.  
  11. Using a large pair of plies or a C-clamp compress the caliper piston back into the bore.
  12.  
  13. Remove the disc brake pads and any shims from the caliper mounting bracket.
  14.

  1. Install the brake pads and any shims removed from the caliper mounting bracket.
  2.  
  3. Install the caliper on the mounting bracket and install the mounting bolts. Tighten the mounting bolts to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the front wheels and lower the vehicle.
    CAUTION
    Do not attempt to drive the vehicle until after the following step is performed.

  6.  
  7. Depress the brake pedal repeatedly until a firm pedal is obtained. Do not attempt to drive the vehicle unless a firm pedal is obtained.
  8.  
  9. Check the fluid level in the master cylinder. Add fresh brake fluid, as necessary.
  10.  
  11. Road-test the vehicle.
  12.
