Toyota Tercel 1995

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. On vehicles equipped with an air bag, wait at least 90 seconds before proceeding.
  2.
  3. If equipped with fuel injected engine, relieve the fuel pressure by removing fuel filler cap.
  4.
  5. Drain the cooling system. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  6.
  7. Tag and disconnect all wires, hoses or cables that interfere with intake manifold removal.
  8.
  9. Remove the necessary components in order to gain access to the intake manifold retaining bolts.
  10.
  11. Remove the throttle body.
  12.
  13. Disconnect the intake manifold water hoses.
  14.
  15. Remove the intake manifold retaining bolts. Remove the intake manifold from the vehicle.
  16.

To install:

  1. Using new gaskets, install the intake manifold and tighten the retaining bolts to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm) working from the center to the ends in steps.
  2.
  3. Connect all necessary lines and hoses.
  4.
  5. Connect all wire harnesses previously disconnected.
  6.
  7. Install the throttle body.
  8.
  9. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  10.
  11. Fill the cooling system.
  12.
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14.
  15. Start the engine, check for leaks and road test for proper operation.
