Dual Zone Passenger's Side

Specific to:

Chrysler Town & Country 2008-2009

Dodge Grand Caravan 2008-2009

CAUTION
Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait 2 minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

NOTE
The single zone heater-A/C system is equipped with a single blend door actuator. The dual zone system has two blend door actuators, one for the driver side blend-air door and one for the passenger side blend-air door.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.
  3. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  4.
  5. If equipped, remove the silencer from underneath the passenger side of the instrument panel.
  6.
  7. Reach up between the HVAC air inlet housing and the HVAC air distribution housing and remove the 2 screws (1) that secure the blend door actuator (2) to the bracket located on the passenger side of the air distribution housing (3) and remove the actuator from the bracket.
  8.
  9. Disengage the red locking tab and disconnect the wire harness (4) from the blend door actuator.
  10.
  11. Remove the actuator from the vehicle.
