Testing



3.4L (5VZ-FE) VIN N
  1. Disconnect the MAF meter connector.
  2.  
  3. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals THA and E2.
  4.  
  5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the MAF meter.

  7. Connect the MAF meter connector.
  8.  
  9. Using a voltmeter, connect the positive (+) tester probe to terminal VG, and negative (-) tester probe to terminal E2G.
  10.  
  11. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  12.  
  13. Blow air into the MAF meter, and check that the voltage fluctuates.
  14.  
  15. If operation is not as specified, replace the MAF meter.

  16.  

4.0L (1GR-FE) Engine
  1. Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 (+B) and 2 (E2G).
  2.  
  3. Connect the positive (+) tester prove to terminal 3 (VG), and negative (-) tester prove to terminal 2 (E2G).
  4.  
  5. Blow air into the MAF meter, and check if the voltage fluctuates.
  6.  
  7. If operation is not as specified, replace the MAF meter.

  9. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between the terminals 4 (THA) and 5 (E2). Compare to values given in the illustration.
  10.  
  11. If operation is not as specified, replace the MAF meter.
  12.  

4.7L (2UZ-FE) VIN T
  1. Apply battery voltage across terminals 3 (+B) and 4 (E2G).
  2.  
  3. Connect the positive (+) tester probe to terminal 5 (VG), and the negative (-) tester probe to terminal 4 (E2G).
  4.  
  5. Blow air into the MAF meter, and check if the voltage fluctuates.
  6.  
  7. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals 2 (THA) and 1 (E2).
