Oil Pressure Sensor

Removal & Installation



The oil pressure sensor is located next to the oil filter.

  1. Remove the engine undercover, if required.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.
  4.  
  5. Using a 24 mm deep socket wrench, remove the oil pressure switch.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Apply Loctite® to 2 or 3 threads of the oil pressure sensor.
  2.  
  3. Using a 24 mm deep socket wrench, Install the oil pressure sensor. Tighten the sensor to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
    NOTE
    Do not start the engine for 1 hour after the installation.

  4.  
  5. Connect the oil pressure switch connector.
  6.  
  7. Replace the engine undercover, if required.
  8.  
  9. Start the engine and check for leaks.

Testing



  1. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor connect.
  2.  
  3. Check that there is continuity between the terminal and ground with the engine stopped.
  4.  
  5. Check that there is no continuity between the terminal and ground with the engine running.
