  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the ABS speed sensor from the knuckle, if equipped.
  6.  
  7. Remove the brake pads and the caliper.
  8.  
  9. Check the disc run-out at this point. Make a note of the results for use during installation. Refer to the inspection procedure.
  10.  
  11. Remove the grease cap from the hub. Remove the cotter pin and the castellated nut.
  12.  
  13. Remove the wheel hub with the brake rotor attached.
  14.  
  15. Perform the rotor inspection procedure.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Coat the hub oil seal lip with multi-purpose grease and install the disc/hub assembly.
  2.  
  3. Adjust the wheel bearings.
  4.  
  5. Using a dial indicator, measure the disc run-out. Check it against the specifications in the Brake Specifications chart and the figures noted earlier.
  6.  

If the wheel bearing nut is improperly tightened, disc run-out will be affected.

  1. Install the remainder of the components as outlined in the appropriate sections.
  2.  
  3. Bleed the brake system.
  4.  
  5. Road test the truck.
  6.  

  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front wheel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the caliper assembly. For additional information, see the following topic: -Brake Caliper, Removal & Installation-. You may leave the brake line connected and secure the caliper assembly with mechanic-s wire or equivalent. Do not hang the caliper assembly by the brake line.
  6.  
  7. Matchmark the brake disc to the axle hub. Remove the front brake disc.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Align the matchmarks and install the front brake disc.
  2.  
  3. Install the caliper assembly.
  4.  
  5. Install the front wheel and lower the vehicle. Tighten the lug nuts.
  6.  
  7. Bleed the brake system if the brake line was disconnected and road test the vehicle.
