  1. Disarm the SRS system. For additional information, please refer to the following topic(s): -CHASSIS ELECTRICAL, Air Bag (Supplemental Restraint System)-.
    CAUTION
    Work must NOT be started until after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative battery cable is disconnected from the battery. The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source so that if the work is started within the 90 seconds of disconnecting the negative terminal, the SRS may be deployed.

  3. Remove the steering wheel. For additional information, please refer to the following topic: Steering Wheel, Removal & Installation.

  5. Remove the side cowl trim.
  6.  
  7. Remove the upper and lower steering wheel covers.
  8.  
  9. Remove the turn signal combination switch. For additional information, please refer to the following topic: Turn Signal (Combination) Switch, Removal & Installation.
  10.  
  11. To remove the lower finish panel, remove the four mounting bolts. Disconnect the hook lock release lever, disconnect the fuel lid release lever and remove the lower finish panel.
  12.  
  13. Remove the No. 1 and No. 2 heater-to-register duct screw and the ducts.
  14.  
  15. Pry out the starter switch bezel.
  16.  
  17. Remove the steering column cover screws and the covers.
  18.  
  19. Remove the combination switch-to-steering column screws, disconnect the electrical connector and the combination switch.
  20.  
  21. Remove the steering column-to-instrument panel nuts/bolts and the lower steering column bolt; then carefully, remove the steering column.
  22.  
  23. Remove the 4 cluster finish panel screws and the panel.
  24.  
  25. Remove the 4 combination meter screws, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the combination meter.
  26.  
  27. Pry out the parking brake hole cover.
  28.  
  29. Pry out the upper console panel.
  30.  
  31. Disengage the 7 center cluster finish panel clips and remove the panel.
    NOTE
    Remove the center cluster finish panel clips by starting at the bottom and working toward the top.

  33. Remove the heater control knobs.
  34.  
  35. Remove the 2 rear console box bolts/screws and the rear console box.
  36.  
  37. Remove the upper console panel garnish.
  38.  
  39. Remove the 2 glove compartment door screws and the door.
  40.  
  41. Disconnect the passenger-s side air bag module electrical connector.
  42.  
  43. Remove the glove box light.
  44.  
  45. Remove the 3 lower No. 2 finish panel bolts and the panel.
  46.  
  47. Remove the 3 glove compartment door reinforcement bolts and the reinforcement.
  48.  
  49. Remove the No. 4 heater-to-register duct.
  50.  
  51. Remove the radio assembly.
  52.  
  53. Remove the side bracket bolt and the bracket.
  54.  
  55. If equipped with manual air conditioning, remove the heater control assembly.
  56.  
  57. If equipped with automatic air conditioning, remove the air conditioning control assembly.
  58.  
  59. Remove the instrument panel-to-chassis nut and 2 bolts; then, remove the instrument panel.
  60.  
  61. Remove the instrument panel reinforcement-to-chassis nuts/bolts, the steering column assembly and the instrument panel reinforcement.
  62.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal. Tighten the instrument panel mounting bolts to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).

  3. Remove the lower finish panel (2 bolts and 4 clips). Disconnect the hook lock control cable and fuel lid lock control cable.

  5. Remove the console upper rear panel (5 clips and 2 retainers)
  6.  
  7. Remove the upper panel (6 clips and 2 retainers).
  8.  
  9. Remove the console upper panel garnishes.
  10.  
  11. Remove the A/C control unit (1 screw and 4 clips).
  12.  
  13. Remove the cluster finish center panel (3 bolts and 8 clips).
  14.  
  15. Remove the radio.
  16.

  19. Remove the steering column covers.
  20.  
  21. Remove the turn signal combination switch. For additional information, please refer to the following topic: Turn Signal (Combination) Switch, Removal & Installation.

  23. Remove the lower left instrument panel (2 bolts and 2 retainers).
  24.  
  25. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel (7 clips).
  26.  
  27. Remove the instrument cluster (3 screws and 2 bolts).
  28.  
  29. Remove the console box rear assembly (6 bolts).
  30.  
  31. Remove the right front door scuff plate.
  32.  
  33. Remove the right cowl trim board.
  34.  
  35. Remove the instrument panel under-cover.
  36.  
  37. Remove the glove compartment door.
  38.  
  39. Disconnect the passenger air bag connector.
  40.  
  41. Remove the instrument panel lower finish panel.
  42.  
  43. Remove the instrument panel register.
  44.  
  45. Remove the assist grip.
  46.  
  47. Remove the A-pillar trim panels.
  48.  
  49. Remove the instrument panel safety pad and passenger air bag.
  50.  
  51. Remove the speakers.
  52.  
  53. Remove the defroster nozzle.
  54.  
  55. Remove the heater ducts.
  56.  
  57. Remove the meter hood retainer.
  58.  
  59. Remove the instrument panel bracket.
  60.  
  61. Remove the automatic light control sensor.
  62.  
  63. Remove the solar sensor.
  64.  
  65. Disconnect the instrument panel wiring.
  66.  
  67. Remove the antenna wire.
  68.  
  69. Remove the navigation antenna assembly.
  70.  
  71. Remove the instrument panel left door air bag.
  72.  
  73. Remove the instrument panel safety pad.
