1gr-FE Engine



  1. Drain the engine coolant.
  2.  
  3. Remove the 11 clips and radiator upper support seal.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the reserve tank hose from the radiator.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the oil cooler inlet hose from the radiator.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the oil cooler outlet hose from the radiator.
    NOTE
    Tag these hoses if necessary for identification when installing.

  12.  
  13. Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
  14.  
  15. Remove the three mounting bolts and separate the fan shroud.
  16.  
  17. Remove the four mounting bolts and remove the radiator.

To install:

  1. Insert the tabs of the radiator support through the radiator service holes.
  2.  
  3. Install the radiator and tighten the four mounting bolts to 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Insert the lower tabs of the fan shroud in the slots of the radiator. Tighten the fan shroud mounting bolts to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Connect all of the radiator and oil cooler hoses.
  8.  
  9. Install the radiator upper support seal with the 11 clips.
  10.  
  11. Refill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level.
  12.  
  13. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  14.  

2uz-FE Engine



  1. Drain the engine coolant.
  2.  
  3. Remove the engine under cover.
  4.  
  5. Remove the 11 clips and radiator upper support seal.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the reserve tank hose from the radiator.
  8.  
  9. Remove the three bolts and reserve tank.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler inlet hose from the radiator, if equipped.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the oil cooler outlet hose from the radiator, if equipped.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
  18.  
  19. Remove the fan shroud mounting bolts and remove the fan shroud.
  20.  
  21. Remove the radiator mounting bolts and remove the radiator.
  22.  

To install:

  1. Insert the tabs of the radiator support through the radiator service holes.
  2.  
  3. Install the radiator and tighten the four mounting bolts to 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm).

  5. Insert the lower tabs of the fan shroud in the slots of the radiator. Tighten the fan shroud mounting bolts to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Connect all of the radiator and oil cooler hoses.
  8.  
  9. Install the radiator upper support seal with the 11 clips.
  10.  
  11. Refill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level.
  12.  
  13. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  14.

  1. Drain the engine coolant.
  2.  
  3. Remove the seven clips and the remove the grille.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the radiator reservoir (overflow) hose from the filler neck.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
  10.  
  11. Remove the fan shroud.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler hoses, if equipped with automatic transmission.
  14.  
  15. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the radiator.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Install the radiator assembly into the vehicle. Tighten the mounting bolts to 8.7 ft. lbs. (12 Nm).

  3. Connect the transmission oil cooler hoses, if equipped with automatic transmission.
  4.  
  5. Install the fan shroud.
  6.  
  7. Connect the lower, upper and reservoir (overflow) radiator hoses.
  8.  
  9. Install the grille with the seven clips.
  10.  
  11. Refill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level.
  12.  
  13. Start the engine and check for leaks.
