  1. Using a suitable jack, raise and support the rear axle housing. Support the frame with a suitable jackstands.
  2.
  3. Remove the wheel.
  4.
  5. Disconnect the parking brake cable bracket from the rear axle housing.
  6.
  7. Remove the bolt, two washers and two bushings, holding the shock absorber to the rear axle housing and disconnect the shock absorber. Holding the shock firmly to keep it from turning, remove the upper mounting nut, retainers and cushions. Remove the shock.
  8.

To install:

  1. Install the upper shock retainers, cushions and tighten the mounting nut to 14 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  2.
  3. Install the lower shock bushings, washers and tighten the bolt to 47 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
  4.
  5. Connect the parking brake cable bracket and tighten to 9 ft. lbs. (13 Nm).
  6.
  7. Install the wheel and lower the vehicle. Tighten the lug nuts to 83 ft. lbs. (110 Nm).

  1. Remove the wheel.
  2.
  3. Remove the stabilizer bar link.
  4.
  5. Remove the air line bracket nut.
  6.
  7. Lower the axle to fully extend the shocks.
  8.
  9. Disconnect the air line coupling.
  10.
  11. Remove the lower shock bolt.
  12.
  13. Remove the upper nut, washers, bushings and retainer.
  14.
  15. Installation is the reverse of removal. Torque the upper nut to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm); the lower bolt to 72 ft. lbs. (98 Nm). Torque the bracket bolt to 221 ft. lbs. (29 Nm); the coupling to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  16.

  1. Raise and safely the support the vehicle.
  2.
  3. Remove the nut and disconnect the stabilizer bar from the stabilizer link. Hold the stabilizer bar link with a wrench and remove the nut, retainer, cushion and link. Remove the 2 retainers and cushion from the stabilizer link.
  4.
  5. Remove the mounting bolt to disconnect the shock absorber hose.
  6.
  7. Ensure that the shocks are fully extended to the normal suspension rebound point. Using a wrench to hold the bracket, disconnect the shock absorber hose at the joint.
