Front Speed Sensor

TESTING
  1. Remove the bolt from the pipe clamp of the wire harness for the sensor.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the speed sensor wiring.
  4.

  1. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the speed sensor connector. Resistance should be 0.6-2.5 kilohms
  2.  
  3. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the speed sensor connector and body ground. Resistance should be 1 milohm or higher.
  4.  
  5. If the resistance is not within specifications, replace the sensor.
  6.  

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the inner fender liner.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the speed sensor harness.
  4.  
  5. Remove the bolt, flexible hose, and speed sensor harness clamp from the shock absorber.
  6.  
  7. Remove the resin clip and clamp bolt securing the sensor harness to the body.
  8.  
  9. Remove the front speed sensor from the steering knuckle.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the sensor, tighten the retainers to 69 inch lbs. (8 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the resin clip and clamp bolt securing the harness and torque to 48 inch lbs. (5.4 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the sensor harness clamp, flexible hose and bolt and torque to 21 ft. lbs. (29 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Attach the sensor wring harness.
  8.  
  9. Install the fender liner.
  10.
