Catalytic Converter

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Remove the converter lower shield.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect converter from front pipe or manifold.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect converter from center pipe or tail pipe assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove catalytic converter.
  8.  

To Install:

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedures. Torque the converter nuts and bolts to 21 ft. lbs. (29 Nm) on the 3S-FE, 3S-GTE and 5S-FE engines, and to 32 ft. lbs. (43 Nm) for the other engines. Always use new clamps and exhaust seals, start the engine and check for leaks.
