REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

A syringe, container and shop rags are needed to aid in master cylinder replacement.

  1. Draw the fluid from the master cylinder out with a syringe.
  2.  

A turkey baster can substitute for a syringe to remove the fluid.

  1. Using a line wrench, disconnect the line leading to the clutch master cylinder.
  2.  
  3. Remove the clip and clevis pin.
  4.  
  5. Loosen the mounting nuts and pull the unit out. Discard the gasket.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Insert the master cylinder and secure the clip and clevis pin.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the mounting nuts to 8 ft. lbs. (12 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Attach the clutch line and tighten to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Add fluid to the master cylinder and bleed the system.
  8.  
  9. Test the clutch system.
